How do I add my child?

Open Parent mode → tap Settings (top-right) → Manage children → Add a child. Give them a name and pick an avatar emoji. You can add up to 2 children per account. Switch into a child’s kid-friendly view by tapping their avatar on the home picker.

How do recurring tasks work?

Tasks are templates that project onto a calendar — there are no pre-spawned rows, so today’s view is always live. When you create a task you pick a recurrence:

Once — the chosen day only.
Daily — every day from the start date onward.
Weekly (specific days) — the weekdays you select (e.g. Mon/Wed/Fri).
Weekly (N times) — “Practice piano 3× this week.” Shows every day with an (N/M wk) progress badge; dims once the target is hit, then resets next calendar week.
Anytime (bonus) — a bonus task that appears only on today’s view.

My child doesn’t see a task I added

Tasks must be assigned to a child. When you create a task, the Child Switcher chips at the top of the parent task list decide which child it belongs to. Also check the template’s start date isn’t in the future and that it wasn’t stopped (end date in the past). Anytime tasks only appear on today’s view.

Skip vs. Stop vs. Delete a task

Skip today (swipe → Skip today) hides the row for one day; it’s back tomorrow. Swipe again to undo.
Stop from today (Edit task → Stop from today) ends the template so it no longer appears today or later — past days keep their history. Resume by clearing the end date.
Delete entirely (Edit task → Delete entirely) removes the template and its completions. Points already earned are not docked.

How do points work?

Kids earn points when you approve a task they completed.
Kids spend points on rewards from the catalog you set up.
Behaviors can deduct points, with a per-day cap so it stays kind.
Balance never goes below zero; lifetime points always count up.

My data didn’t sync to my other device

Bizzy Beavers syncs through your iCloud private database. Check:

Both devices are signed into the same Apple ID.
iCloud is enabled in iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Show All → Bizzy Beavers (toggled on).

First sync after install can take a minute; after that it’s near real-time. If a device stays behind, force-quit the lagging app and reopen it to nudge the sync.

I forgot my parent PIN

On the PIN screen you can unlock with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode — the button appears automatically whenever any of those is set up (it even tries on its own when you open parent mode). Use it to get in, then set a fresh PIN from Settings → Change parent PIN. Your PIN is stored only on your device as a secure hash and is never sent to us, so we can’t reset it remotely — make sure your device has a passcode or Face ID/Touch ID set up so you always have a way back in.

How do I back up or restore my data?

Back up: Settings → Backup → Export backup. You get a single JSON file (children, tasks, rewards, behaviors, and history) to save or share. Photos and your PIN are not included.
Restore: Settings → Backup → Import backup → pick the file. Import merges — items with matching IDs are updated, new items are added, and nothing existing is deleted. For an exact restore, Wipe all data first, then import.

I want to start over

Parent mode → Settings → Reset → Wipe all data (type RESET to confirm). Wipes children, tasks, rewards, history, and the PIN on this device. Because data syncs through iCloud, the wipe propagates to your other devices too.
